DEVOTIONAL
There is a difference between knowing about God and knowing God, between practicing religious activities and living under the government of God's Kingdom. Religion can teach a person how to look spiritual, while the Kingdom teaches a person how to live under the rule, nature, and will of the King.

Jesus repeatedly confronted religious systems that had preserved outward traditions while losing the heart of God's intention. A person can attend services, sing loudly, pray publicly, and still have a heart far from God. Jesus said, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me” (Matthew 15:8).
Religion often asks, “What must I do to appear acceptable?” The Kingdom asks, “How can I live as a son who knows his Father?” Religion can reduce Christianity to ceremonies, titles, rules, appearances, and human traditions. The Kingdom brings us into relationship, righteousness, obedience, spiritual understanding, and transformation.
Paul warned about having “a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof” (2 Timothy 3:5). The danger is not merely being outside the church; it is being around the things of God while missing the life of God.

The Christian life is not a changed life, but an exchanged life.
The Kingdom therefore changes our perspective. We don't pray merely to impress people; we pray because we fellowship with our Father. We don't give merely to be noticed; we give because generosity reflects the heart of the King. Also, we don't obey Scripture simply because we fear punishment; but we obey because we have come to love the One who gave us His Word.

Jesus said, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). So, the Kingdom must become more than a Sunday vocabulary—it must become our culture!
Beloved, examine your faith. Have you inherited religious habits that you have never tested in the light of Scripture? Are you more concerned about appearing spiritual before people than walking honestly with God?
Did you know, the Bereans were commended because they “searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so” (Acts 17:11). Therefore, don't surrender your spiritual understanding to mere tradition, personality, denomination, or popular opinion. Instead, return to Christ, search the Word, know the King, and let His government shape your character, relationships, decisions, work, generosity, and private life. The goal is not merely to become religious; it is to become Kingdom-minded and Christlike.

Father, IJN: Open my eyes to see Your Kingdom clearly. Deliver me from every tradition that contradicts Your Word and purpose.
Father, IJN: Give me a heart that truly knows You, not merely religious habits that make me appear spiritual before people.
Father, IJN: Let Your Kingdom govern my thoughts, choices, relationships, and daily life. Make Christ visible through me. Amen.

ASSIGNMENT
Today, examine one religious habit, belief, or practice you have embraced and search the Scriptures concerning it. Ask the Holy Spirit: “Is this producing Christ in me, or merely making me look religious?”
The true test of our spirituality is not how much we know, but how much of Christ is being formed in us.
