DEVOTIONAL
One of the greatest tragedies in the Christian life is to be born again yet live as though nothing changed. Most believers know that Jesus died for their sins, but it is amazing that they have not fully understood what His finished work accomplished in them.
Understand this—Redemption did not merely change your destination from hell to heaven; instead, it brought you into a new life—the very life of God. So, you are not merely an improved version of your old self. In Christ, you have become a new creation.
Peter tells us that God has given us “exceeding great and precious promises” so that we might become “partakers of the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4). This does not mean that believers become God or equal to God. It means that through the new birth, God's life and nature have been imparted to us.

The same life that once produced fear, bondage and spiritual deadness has been replaced by the life of Christ. As 1 John 5:11 declares, “God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” You carry something heaven put inside you.
Let's think of a tiny seed buried beneath the soil. To someone looking at the ground, nothing appears to be happening. Yet inside that seed is the potential for an entire tree. In the same way, many believers look at themselves through the lens of their past, limitations, failures and circumstances. They say, “I am just ordinary.” But the new birth has placed God's life within you.
The apostle Paul could therefore say, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27).
Therefore, your challenge is often not the absence of God's life; it is the failure to recognize, believe and walk in what God has already placed within you.

The believer is a partaker of the divine nature.
This truth should destroy spiritual mediocrity. You should not continually approach life as a helpless victim when Scripture says you are God's workmanship (Ephesians 2:10), His child (1 John 3:1), and that “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). This is not a call to pride; it is a call to God-consciousness.
Walk into your workplace conscious that God's wisdom is in you. Face every difficult situation conscious that His strength is available to you. Serve others with the consciousness that His love is working through you.

Beloved, stop measuring yourself only by what your natural abilities can accomplish. There is a divine life within you that must be expressed through faith, obedience and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Feed your spirit with God's Word. Renew your mind. Pray. Act on Scripture. As you become increasingly conscious of who you are in Christ, you will begin to live differently. You were redeemed to live by the life of God, not by the limitations of your former life.

1. Do I genuinely see myself as someone who carries the life and nature of God?
2. What areas of my life are still being controlled by unbelief and a consciousness of limitation?
3. How would my decisions change if I became more conscious of Christ living in me?
PRAYER KEY POINTS
Father, IJN: Thank You for giving me Your life through Christ. Help me to understand and fully walk in the reality of my new nature.
Father, IJN: Deliver me from every mindset of mediocrity, fear and unbelief. Let the life of Christ be visibly expressed through me.
Father, IJN: Open my understanding through Your Word, and help me live daily with confidence in Your presence and power within me. Amen.
