DEVOTIONAL
Galilee was not the place people expected the Messiah’s ministry to begin. It was regarded as a place of obscurity, mixed population, and little religious prestige. Yet heaven chose Galilee. Jesus did not begin His public ministry in Jerusalem’s temple courts or among the religious elite. He began in a place that many had written off. What men overlooked, God had marked for visitation.
Perhaps that is where you are today. You may feel like a forgotten Galilee—overlooked by people, ignored by those who once promised to help, or delayed in ways you cannot explain. But never mistake human neglect for divine abandonment. God remembers what men forget. Joseph was forgotten in prison by the chief butler, yet Genesis 41:1 says, “And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed…” When God's appointed time came, Joseph's forgotten season suddenly became a platform for his destiny.

Look at Galilee again: “The people which sat in darkness saw great light.” Darkness had occupied that territory, but darkness could not cancel God's purpose for it. Your present location does not determine your final destination. God can cause light to rise in the very place where people see no future. Isaiah 60:1 declares, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”
The words of A.W. Tozer,
God is looking for people through whom He can do the impossible.
Therefore, do not despise where you are. Do not conclude that because doors have closed, your story has ended. Sometimes God deliberately begins great things in unlikely places so that nobody can take the glory. Bethlehem looked insignificant, yet Christ was born there.
Nazareth looked ordinary, yet Jesus was raised there. Galilee looked forgotten, yet it became the launching ground of the ministry of the Son of God.
Beloved, look to God again. The place may be forgotten by men, but it is not forgotten by heaven. Psalm 34:18 says, “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” Your forgotten season can become the testimony that makes you declare, “Only God could have done this.”

So, keep praying. Keep believing. Keep walking in obedience. Galilee was not the end of the story; it was the beginning of something glorious.

1. What area of your life have you allowed people's neglect to make you believe God has forgotten?
2. How can you begin looking to God again instead of looking at your present circumstances?
3. What promise of God do you need to hold onto while waiting for your “Galilee” season to become a testimony?
PRAYER KEY POINTS
Father, IJN: Thank You because You never forget me. Let Your light arise in every dark and forgotten area of my life.
Father, IJN: Restore what has been lost, revive what has become dormant, and cause Your purpose for my life to speak again.
Father, IJN: Give me grace to trust Your timing and keep looking to You until my hidden season becomes a testimony. Amen.

Your Galilee may look forgotten, but heaven has not forgotten you. What men forget, God remembers. What men overlook, God can visit. And what men write off, God can restore.
