DEVOTIONAL
Beloved, pause and reflect - life as you know it is deeper than breathing, eating, and surviving. There is a higher life, a superior existence, a divine reality called eternal life.
I once read the story of a man who had everything money could buy; houses, cars, influence, yet he was restless. On one fateful evening, he sat quietly worried, and he said to himself, “If this is all life is about, then something is missing.” That hunger in his soul led him to Christ. And when he encountered Jesus, he later testified, “I didn’t just find religion, I found life.”
That is the difference. Eternal life is not religion it is God’s own life imparted into man. The Bible declares in 1 John 5:11–12 (KJV), "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”
This life is not earned — it is a gift. It is not natural, it is supernatural. It is the very life of God operating in a human vessel.
Jesus explained this mystery to Nicodemus in the night. In John 3:3 (KJV), He said, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Eternal life begins with the new birth. It is a transition from natural existence into divine reality.

The words of Pastor E.A. Adeboye,
Eternal life is not just living forever; it is living the life of God now.
Beloved, eternal life is what makes you live above fear, above sin, above limitations. It is what empowers you to live heaven on earth. It is the Kingdom life; a life governed by God’s nature, sustained by His Word, and directed by His Spirit.
The Bible says in John 10:10 (KJV), the “…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Not just life — but abundant life.
However, this life is reserved for the redeemed, those who have come into Christ. It is not automatic; it is accessed by divine alignment.
Pathways To Eternal Life
1. Be Born Again (The New Birth Experience)
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” John 3:5 (KJV)
This is the foundation. Eternal life begins when you are born of God, not by flesh, but by the Spirit.
2. Believe in Jesus Christ (Faith in the Son)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (KJV)

Faith in Christ is the gateway to eternal life. Without Him, there is no access.
3. Abide in the Word of God
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:31–32 (KJV)
Eternal life is sustained by the Word. The more you stay in the Word, the more this life manifests in you.
4. Walk in the Spirit
“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16 (KJV)
The life of God in you is expressed through the Spirit. Walking in the Spirit keeps you aligned with this divine nature.
Beloved, eternal life is not a promise for tomorrow — it is a reality for today. You are not meant to live like a mere human when you carry divine life inside you.
POINTS OF REFLECTION
1. Are you actively seeking the hidden riches God has stored for you?
2. Do you rely on God’s Spirit to lead your financial and life decisions?
3. Have you truly experienced and embraced the life of God within you?
