Scripture Text: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Romans 5:1 (KJV)

A courtroom was set. The guilty man stood before the judge with undeniable evidence against him. His sins, his failures, his shame - all laid bare.

The verdict was clear: guilty.

But then, something unexpected happened. The Judge stepped down from the bench, removed His robe of authority, and stood in the place of the condemned.

He bore the punishment, paid the price, and then returned to declare the guilty man free. That is the story of our justification in Christ Jesus.

After the beginning, man fell short of God's glory, due to sinful disobedience. We were gentiles, strangers to the covenant, without hope and without God in the world (Ephesians 2:12, KJV).

Cast away, condemned, and lost, humanity stood helpless. But in the richness of His mercy, God sent His only begotten Son — Jesus Christ; as the Passover Lamb.

His blood became the cleansing power that redeemed us not just from past sins, but even those yet to be born. He died, yes, but on the third day, He rose again so that we might be justified.

Understand The Mystery

Yes, here lies the mystery: Jesus was both the Testator and the Mediator

Now, as the Testator, His death brought His covenant (the New Testament) into effect. “For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator” (Hebrews 9:16, KJV).

But He did not remain in the grave. He rose as the Mediator  - the One who continually intercedes for us before the Father.

“And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death… they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” (Hebrews 9:15, KJV).

This is more than history; it is your reality. Justification means God sees you as righteous, not because of your deeds, but because of Christ’s finished work.

You are acquitted, declared innocent, and restored to your rightful place as a child of God.

It was Charles Hodge, who said,

The voice that spells forgiveness will say: You may go. You have been let off the penalty which your sin deserves. But justification says: You may come. You are welcome to all my love and my presence.

Beloved, many believers know Jesus was crucified but do not grasp the divine operations behind the cross. The blood didn’t just pardon you; it positioned you.

His resurrection didn’t just conquer death; it secured your justification.

Child of God! Know that today, and henceforth, you stand free, clean, and justified before the Father.

So, Live In That Freedom!

POINTS OF REFLECTION

1. Do I truly believe I am justified, or do I still live under the weight of past guilt and condemnation?

2. How often do I meditate on the depth of Christ’s work as both Testator and Mediator for my redemption?

3. Am I walking in the boldness and peace that justification in Christ has given me?

PRAYER KEY POINTS

Father, IJN: Thank You for justifying me through the blood of Jesus and granting me peace with You.

Father, IJN: Help me to live daily in the reality of my justification, free from guilt and condemnation.

Father, IJN: Teach me to boldly walk in the inheritance that has been secured for me through Christ Jesus.

ASSIGNMENT

Spend time meditating on Romans 4 and 5 this week. Write down in your journal every benefit you now have in Christ because you are justified.

Also, each day, declare aloud: “I am justified through Christ, and I have peace with God.”

Justification is not earned by works but granted by grace through Christ — once for all, forever secure.
