Stay Connected!

Scripture Text: “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” – John 15:5 (KJV)

There's this story of a farmer who once planted a vineyard. The vines actually grew strong, and the branches blossomed beautifully.

One day, a branch was cut off by mistake and laid aside. At first, it looked fresh, still green as though it would survive. But in a matter of days, it withered, dried up, and was useless.

Why?

It was no longer connected to the vine that gave it life.

This is the same picture Jesus paints of our relationship with Him. Many today sit in church pews, sing the hymns, and wear the title “Christian,” yet they are not connected to God.

The nearness of a pipe to a water tank does not guarantee flow; only connection does.

Beloved, the truth is this: without Christ, we can do nothing.

We were created for God’s glory and praise (Isaiah 43:21, KJV). Our strength, wisdom, and resources cannot sustain us outside of Him.

The Apostle Paul declares, “For in him we live, and move, and have our being” (Acts 17:28, KJV). To disconnect from God is to disconnect from the very source of life.

There is a great deception today: many think religion can replace relationship. They think activity can replace intimacy. But Jesus did not call us into rituals — He called us into abiding.

Connection is not about Sunday service alone; it is a daily walk, a continual flow of life from Him to us.

A.W. Tozer remarks that,

If you don’t maintain your connection with God, you will maintain your connection with something else.

You should know that as a branch, you carry no life of your own. The fruitfulness, power, and victory you desire flow only when you stay connected to the Vine — Christ.

When you stay plugged into prayer, the Word, and fellowship with His Spirit, you operate above the circumstances of life.

Also remember, that you are born of God, and whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world (1 John 5:4, KJV).

Beloved! Stay connected. Stay fruitful. Stay alive in Him.

POINTS OF REFLECTION

1. Am I truly connected to Christ, or am I merely close to the things of God without intimacy?

2. Do I prioritize abiding in Christ daily through prayer and His Word?

3. Am I bearing fruit that reflects my connection to the true Vine?

PRAYER KEY POINTS

Father, IJN: Thank You for being the source of my life and all that I am.

Father, IJN: Keep me connected to You always; let me never depend on myself or be deceived by the world’s substitutes.

Father, IJN: Let my life continually bear fruit that glorifies You and advances Your kingdom.

ASSIGNMENT

Take some minutes each day this week to intentionally reconnect with God in prayer and meditation on His Word.

Identify areas in your life where you have been operating disconnected from Him, and surrender them to Christ.

Closeness is not connection; only abiding in Christ secures the flow of life.
