Divine Health In Christ!

Scripture Text:"Who forgiveth all thine iniquities;who healeth all thy diseases;" —Psalm 103:3 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL

No matter how rich you may be, if you don't have sound health, then, I feel you are poor. Wealth without health is useless. But as redeemed of God, we have been given divine health in Christ.

When God delivered us out of the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His Son - Jesus, it included the deliverance from all manners of sickness and infirmities. "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son" — Colossians 1:13

The concept of divine health in Christ is an essential truth that resonates nearly throughout the pages of Scripture. The reason is that it is rooted in the character of God as our healer and in the redemptive work of Christ on the cross. Jeremiah 30:17 says, "For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD;"

In the scripture text (Psalm 103:3), here we are reminded of God's twofold promise:

He forgives all our sins and
He heals all our diseases.

That is to say, believers in Christ, are called to hold onto this reality of divine health —not merely as something that will be received in time to come or as a future reward. But as a present reality which was made freely available to the redeemed through the finished works of Jesus Christ.

Let's see some vital points we should consider as we reflect on the divine health in Christ:

1. God Is the Source of Healing

Our healing virtually comes from the Almighty God, who also is the source of all life and wholeness. Moses called Him Jehovah-Rapha — the God who heals us, and, His desire is for us to live in complete health and total well-being—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 says, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

2. The Power of Forgiveness

If you desire to live in Divine health you need to understand that it begins with the forgiveness of sins. When you repent from your sins and turn to God, He will cleanse you from all unrighteousness and restore you to a right relationship with Him.

The healing of your body often follows the healing of your soul. "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." — 3 John 1:2

3. The Authority of Jesus

All through His ministry, Jesus often demonstrated His authority over sickness and disease. We saw that He healed all manner of sick folks, cleansed the lepers, and even raised the dead.

It is very important to know that every follower of Christ, has been given the same authority to pray for healing and to believe God for a miracle in His name. Luke 10:19 says, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

4. Understand the Role of Faith

All through the Bible I found that divine health is only accessed through faith in God's promises. Therefore, you have to believe that God is able and willing to heal all your diseases according to His word. Also, even in the face of adversity, you must hold fast to your confession of faith,believing that nothing is impossible for God to do. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him ."

5. The Importance of Stewardship

Even though God is our healer, we are also called to take responsibility as wise stewards of our health. This of course includes the aspect of taking good care of our bodies through proper nutrition, exercise, adequate rest, and seeking medical attention whenever necessary.

Divine health as the case may be does not mean we should forget about practical care or responsibility and the aspect of self-discipline. Hebrews 5:14 says, “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

Beloved! While we continue to meditate on the scripture text (Psalm 103:3) of today's devotional, and even other passages that speak of God's healing power. Let us embrace the divine health which the Father has graciously given to us in Christ Jesus, with all gratitude and expectation.

Let us also learn to declare His promises over our lives, as we continue to believe that His word will not return void but will accomplish what He desires for our well-being and His glory.

PRAYER POINTS

Father, IJN: Thank You for Your promise of divine health in Christ. and Enable me to trust in Your healing power and to keep walking in faith and expectations.

Father, IJN: Continue to strengthen me in my body, soul, and spirit, and let Your healing grace flow through me to touch others in need.

Father, IJN: By the blood of the lamb— Jesus Christ, I destroy by my decree all satanic weapons, projections, and divinations against my health and well-being, I ask that they melt as wax before the fire.

COMMIT TO MEMORY

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)

ASSIGNMENT

As a man thinketh, we are told that so he is. Think and speak light and continue to read and study God's word.

The Bible in Psalms 119:130 says, "The entrance of thy words giveth light;".It giveth understanding unto the simple." It is the light you receive and believe that you can speak.
