DEVOTIONAL

God often uses natural things to reveal spiritual truths. When He speaks of the eagle, He is not merely describing a bird, He is unveiling a pattern of life He desires for His people.

The eagle is not ordinary among birds. It carries a nature of strength, focus, discipline, and elevation. In the same way, the believer is not called to live an ordinary life. There is a divine nature and capacity deposited in you that must be awakened.

God compared His dealings with Israel to that of an eagle. Deuteronomy 32:11 (KJV) says: “As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:”

This reveals care, training, and intentional growth. God is committed to raising you into strength, not leaving you in weakness.

Here are 7 Eagle Natures every believer must embody:

1. The Eagle Waits for Renewal

Talking about dependence on God.

The eagle does not struggle aimlessly, it waits for the right wind to soar. Likewise, believers must learn to wait on God. Understanding that waiting is not idleness; it is spiritual alignment. When you wait on God, your strength is renewed, clarity comes, and direction is established.

2. Eagles Flies at High Altitudes

This is Spiritual Elevation

Eagles don’t flock with common birds. They rise above storms and distractions.

The Bible in Colossians 3:2 (KJV)says, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”

3. Eagles Have Sharp Vision

This is Clarity and Focus

An eagle can see prey from miles away. It does not lose sight of its target.

In the same way, a believer must have spiritual vision, knowing God’s purpose and staying focused on it without distraction.

4. They Embraces the Storm

This is having strength in Adversity

While other birds hide from storms, the eagle uses the storm to rise higher. Challenges are not meant to destroy you, they are opportunities for elevation.

When you understand this, you stop running from pressure and start growing through it. Romans 8:28 (KJV) declares, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

5. The Eagle Renews Itself

This entails spiritual Growth and transformation.

One of the ways of the eagle is that it undergoes a painful renewal process to extend its life and strength. Likewise, believers must continually grow, shedding old habits, renewing the mind, and embracing transformation through the Word.

6.  They Are Disciplined and Selective

This is purity and focus.

Unlike the vulture, eagles are not scavengers; they are intentional about what they consume. This implies that what you feed on matters, whether spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Simply, your growth depends on your diet.

7. The Eagle Trains Its Young

The place of leadership and responsibility.

Even from the scripture you could obviously know that the eagle does not pamper its young, instead it trains them to fly. In same way, God expects you to grow to a point where you can also build others. Christianity is not just about survival, but multiplication.

The word of Bishop David Oyedepo,

You were not born to crawl in life; you were designed to soar.

As you can see the eagle nature is not automatic, it is cultivated. God has placed the potential in you, but you must align yourself with His Word to manifest it.

You are not called to struggle through life, you are called to rise above it.
