DEVOTIONAL
We are living in a generation where men invest heavily in the outward and neglect the inward. Bodies are trained, minds are sharpened, careers are built, but spirits are starving. The tragedy of our age is not ignorance of truth, it is the rejection of truth.
Paul warned Timothy about the nature of the last days: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves... Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” - 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV)

This is the portrait of our generation
Many now treat God as optional. Holiness is mocked, consecration is considered old-fashioned.Prayer is seen as stress, while service to God is called a waste of time. Yet Scripture teaches that godliness is profitable in all things.
The danger today is not just Satan, it is ungodliness. Ungodliness is a destroyer. It slowly kills purpose, destroys divine timing, and disconnects a man from God’s original plan.
Destiny slayers are not always people; sometimes they are patterns, habits, appetites, and choices. Samson had strength but lacked restraint. His destiny was slain by lust. Esau had inheritance but despised it. So, his destiny was wounded by carelessness.
Judas walked with Jesus but loved money. His destiny was destroyed by greed. Every destiny is shaped by choices.
God said, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)
Life is choice-driven, and every choice is a seed. Genesis teaches us the principle of seedtime and harvest.
Whatever you sow today becomes the harvest you cannot avoid tomorrow. Ungodliness may look profitable today, but its bill arrives later.
Sin pays wages.
According to Romans 6:23 (KJV), “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” A man may escape consequences for a season, but he cannot escape harvest forever.
God’s silence is not weakness, and His patience is not approval, his mercy is not permission. Yet, many think because judgment delays, God has overlooked.

But Scripture says in Galatians 6:7 (KJV), “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
This is a kingdom law.
No exceptions.
No favoritism.
No escape.
SIX COSTS OF UNGODLINESS
Let's consider the cost of living against the will of God. Here are six pertinent ones.
1. Loss of Divine Direction
Ungodliness clouds spiritual perception. When a man walks in sin, he loses sensitivity to God’s leading. Lot chose by sight and ended in destruction. Without God’s direction, life becomes vulnerable.
Proverbs 14:12 (KJV) says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
2. Destruction of Destiny
Sin destroys potential.
Samson was ordained for greatness but died prematurely because of compromise. A man may have calling, but ungodliness can abort destiny.
Your gift cannot preserve what your character destroys.
The words of Ravi Zacharias,
Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.
3. Loss of Peace
Ungodliness creates internal unrest.
You may smile publicly and be tormented privately. Sin creates storms inside.
Isaiah 57:21 (KJV), “There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.” Peace is expensive where godliness is absent.
4. Divine Judgment
God is merciful, but He is also just. Ananias and Sapphira lied and faced instant judgment. God does not overlook wickedness forever.
Judgment may delay, but it will not fail.
5. Generational Consequences
Sin rarely stops with one person. Achan’s sin affected his household. That's why Parents must understand that their choices can affect their children. Destiny contamination is transferable.

6. Eternal Separation from God
The greatest cost of ungodliness is eternal loss.
Hell is the final destination of a life lived outside God. That is why salvation is urgent.
The Bible in Hebrews 9:27 (KJV) says, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”
This life is temporary.
Eternity is permanent.
Beloved, godliness is not bondage, it is preservation, and it protects destiny. Godliness secures the future, and guarantees eternal reward.
So, beloved, serving God is never a waste of time, and prayer is never wasted.
Obedience is never wasted.
Holiness is never wasted.
Every act of godliness has profit.
Understand that the devil wants to destroy destinies through ungodliness.
Child of God! Be vigilant.
Be sober.
Guard your life.
Protect your destiny and, live for God. Because what is sweet in sin today may become bitter in eternity tomorrow.
POINTS OF REFLECTION
1. Are there habits in your life presently threatening your destiny?
2. How are your daily choices shaping your tomorrow?
3. Why would anyone trade eternal profit for temporary pleasure?
PRAYER KEY POINTS

ASSIGNMENT
Examine your life today. Identify one ungodly habit, relationship, or pattern that is weakening your walk with God. Surrender it in prayer, remove it completely, and replace it with a godly discipline (prayer, Scripture study, fellowship, or service).
Protect your destiny intentionally.
Temporary pleasure is too costly if it destroys eternal purpose. Godliness may demand discipline, but ungodliness always demands a heavier price.
