Scripture Text: "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (KJV)
Welcome to THE LIVING BREAD. It's another winning day for you. The Topic is : A LIVING TABERNACLE.
As believers, it is important to know that we are the living tabernacles of God. It means; our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to glorify God in all that we do.
But the question is, do we live in the knowledge of who we truly are? Do we recognize that we are the dwelling place of God, and that our bodies are sacred vessels for His use?
The Words of T.D. Jakes,
You are not just a building, you are a mobile, moving, living, breathing temple of the living God. You are His dwelling place, and He wants to manifest His presence through you.
This is the truth that you must grasp and live by. Living as a living tabernacle means that you must be mindful of the way you live your life, you must not give the devil a chance to take control of your body or your mind. You must recognize that you are predestined to be conformed to the image of Christ, and that Believes are called to live a life that honors Him.
Now, how can you live as a living tabernacle in a cruel and wicked world full of challenges?
Here are five ways:
1. Honor God with your body
Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, you have to honor God with your body. This means avoiding sin and living a life that is pleasing to Him. (see Romans 12:1)
2. Be filled with the Spirit
Being filled with the Spirit is essential for living in obedience and a righteousness . It gives us the power to live a life that honors God and to manifest His presence in our lives. (see Ephesians 5:18)
3. Walk in the Spirit
Walking in the Spirit means living a life that is guided by the Spirit. It also entails being led by the Spirit and living a life that is pleasing to God. (see Galatians 5:16)
4. Use Your Spiritual Gifts
As a living tabernacle, you have been given spiritual gifts to use for the edification of the body of Christ. We all must therefore not only discover, but use these gifts to serve others and to glorify our God. (1 Corinthians 12:7)
5. Live a life of obedience
Living a life of obedience simply means submitting to God's will and living a life that is pleasing to Him. It is always acting in agreement or being obedient to His Word, and living a life that honors Him. (see John 14:15)
POINTS OF REFLECTION
1. Are you living in the knowledge of who you truly are - a living tabernacle of God?
2. Do you honor God with your body, and are you living a life that is pleasing to Him?
