Scripture Text: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”– Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

We live  in a world that's driven by speed and instant gratification, where the virtue of waiting has become one of the hardest things to do.

Yet, as believers, God often calls us to a place of patience and trust in His perfect timing.

Waiting on God is not passive but an active display of faith, obedience, and hope in His plans.

May be you are someone seeking a job opportunity, a breakthrough in a family situation, or even healing.

The temptation is often to take matters into own hands, make hasty decisions, or grow weary in prayer.

However, God’s Word reminds us that waiting is a time for preparation and growth.

Charles Spurgeon once said,

Stand still - keep the posture of an upright man, ready for action, expecting further orders, cheerfully and patiently awaiting the directing voice.

This tells us that waiting on God is not a waste of time but an opportunity for renewal, instruction, and deepened trust in His faithfulness.

The story of Abraham and Sarah teaches us the dangers of impatience (Genesis 16).

In trying to fulfill God’s promise through human effort, they brought challenges into their lives.

Yet, when we wait on God, trusting His timing and ways, He always fulfills His promises in ways beyond our imagination.

Though today’s world often encourages shortcuts, but God calls us to trust His process.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Therefore, waiting on God allows us to grow spiritually, develop patience, and gain renewed strength.

Whether you’re waiting for answers, direction, or provision, rest assured that God’s timing is perfect, and He never fails those who trust Him.
