Scripture Text: "The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth." — Psalm 145:18

Welcome to THE LIVING BREAD it's another winning day for you.

During times of distress, doubt, or need, it is easy for us to feel as though we are alone or forgotten.

Life’s challenges often cloud our perception, causing us to believe that God is distant. However, Scripture tells us a powerful truth: God is near.

The psalmist, David, confidently declares in Psalm 145:18, "The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him." This is not just a general statement, but a promise that applies to you and me today. When you call on Him in truth, He draws near to you.

God’s nearness is not bound by time or space. He is not a far-off deity, but an ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

In fact, He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). The key to experiencing God’s nearness is to call upon Him with sincerity and truth.

It is when we approach Him with a humble heart, seeking His guidance, that we find His presence close at hand.

Consider the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19. After a mighty victory on Mount Carmel, Elijah fled in fear from Jezebel, and in his solitude, he cried out to God.

God did not speak to him in the mighty wind, earthquake, or fire, but in a "still small voice." In that moment, Elijah realized that God had been near him all along, even in his most desperate and isolated state.

God was not distant, but was speaking quietly, waiting for Elijah to tune his heart to His presence.

It was Joyce Meyer who said,

God is not distant from you. He is as near as the whisper of your heart.

Just like Elijah, you might be looking for God in grand displays of power, but often His nearness is found in the quiet moments when you seek Him.

When you actively call upon Him, you will experience His closeness in ways that transform your life. God is not distant; He is near and ready to help.

The Lord also calls us to draw near to Him. James 4:8 says, "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you." This is a reciprocal action.

Beloved! As you make the decision to draw near to God through prayer, worship, and reading His Word, you will begin to experience His presence more fully.

God has not abandoned you; He is simply waiting for you to come near to Him.

POINTS OF REFLECTION

1. Are you actively calling upon God in times of need or relying on your own strength?

2. Do you recognize that God’s nearness is not limited to moments of crisis but available every day?

3. How can you create space in your life for God’s quiet presence to become more real to you?

PRAYER KEY POINTS

Father, thank You for being near to me. Help me to call upon You with sincerity and truth, knowing that You are always near.

Holy Spirit, help me to recognize God’s presence in my daily life and to seek Him with all my heart.

Lord, I ask for grace to draw near to You in all circumstances, trusting that You will draw near to me.
